The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved an unprecedented milestone at the WAICY 2024 Global Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition, securing the highest number of medals among 89 participating countries. This remarkable achievement is the result of dedicated educational efforts, with Numou Education Center playing a leading role in preparing and training an elite group of students who won 18 awards during the competition—making the center the most awarded educational institution worldwide in this year’s edition.
The competition saw the participation of more than 31,700 students forming 29,000 teams from around the world. Through the efforts of over 30 male and female students from Numou Education Center, more than 3,000 hours of intensive training and project development were completed over 30 consecutive days, resulting in 15 international awards, including 10 medals representing Saudi Arabia—accounting for more than one quarter of all medals awarded globally. With this achievement, the total number of local and international awards earned by Numou Education Center now exceeds 33 awards, solidifying its position as the top-winning institution at WAICY 2024 worldwide.
Students from Numou Education Center, aged between 9 and 17, participated with a range of high-quality projects, including the development of large language models, the collection of more than 8,000 images for AI training, and the production of short films using generative artificial intelligence, all aimed at delivering innovative solutions that serve communities.
Mr. Ashraf Hamad, CEO of Numou Education Center, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating:
“We view this accomplishment as a direct outcome of serious investment in young minds and a testament to our students’ ability to compete globally when provided with the right educational environment. Saudi Arabia’s leadership in this competition is a natural result of an ambitious vision and dedicated efforts, and we remain committed to empowering the next generation to lead the future of technology and innovation.”

Numou Education Center continues its mission to transfer these experiences to children across the Kingdom, expanding technical knowledge among future generations and reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in innovation and technology.
The center also remains committed to spreading knowledge and amplifying the impact of this achievement by engaging winning students in peer-to-peer training programs, enhancing the readiness of the next generation to innovate and leverage technology for a brighter future.
