Saudi Arabia Tops WAICY 2025 Globally with the Highest Number of Awards, and Numou Education Center Leads Worldwide in Medal Count (2)

In a new national and global achievement, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia secured first place worldwide in the WAICY 2025 Global Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth, achieving the highest number of awards among participating countries for the second consecutive year. This accomplishment further confirms the Kingdom’s leadership in investing in human capital and building the capabilities of the next generation in technology and innovation.

This international achievement is the result of the outstanding efforts led by Numou Education Center, which emerged as the top-performing educational institution globally in terms of medals and awards. The center’s remarkable presence placed its name at the forefront of educational institutions worldwide within the largest youth platform specialized in artificial intelligence.

The WAICY 2025 edition witnessed the participation of more than 132,000 students from 103 countries, with over 10,000 innovative projects submitted to the organizing committee. This edition was described as the largest and most competitive since the competition’s launch. According to the official report, Saudi Arabia ranked first globally with 26 international awards, surpassing the United States and all other participating countries—an achievement that reflects the strength of national programs and their ability to compete on a global level.

In this context, students of Numou Education Center achieved a series of outstanding global accomplishments, including three gold medals, four silver medals, fourth place worldwide, fifth place worldwide, the Excellence in Design Award, as well as the Best Organization Award and Best Teachers Award globally. These results further affirm the center’s position as one of the world’s leading educational environments that support innovation.

This excellence is attributed to the comprehensive qualification program delivered by Numou Education Center, which spanned 46 consecutive days of intensive training under the supervision of international experts and specialists. The program included advanced tracks in artificial intelligence, technical solution development, innovative project building, and professional presentation skills—significantly enhancing students’ readiness and enabling them to excel in a highly competitive global environment.

Numou Education Center emphasized that these exceptional results reflect its educational vision centered on empowering students to transform knowledge into impact and develop innovative solutions that serve communities. The distinction achieved by its Saudi and international students across various global categories highlights the strength of the center’s educational model and the effectiveness of its programs in preparing future leaders in artificial intelligence and technology.

This global achievement embodies Numou Education Center’s commitment to its pioneering role in advancing quality education, building an educational ecosystem aligned with future demands, and contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. It also reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued leadership in the WAICY competition for the second consecutive year, underscoring the success of its educational partnerships and strategic initiatives.


In collaboration with Al-Birr Society in Al-Ahsa, the “Code and Create” initiative trains 100 male and female students.

The “Code and Create” initiative launches today, Sunday, in Al-Ahsa, aiming to train 100 male and female students in collaboration with Numou Education Center. The initiative is hosted at Al-Anjal Private Schools, with participation from students of Takammul Center for the Care and Development of Orphans, affiliated with Al-Birr Society in Al-Ahsa.

The initiative arrived in Al-Ahsa after being implemented over the past weeks in Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, and Qatif, where 250 children aged 8–11 were trained in the fundamentals of programming using Scratch and the Swi Swi controller.

Mr. Ashraf Al-Hamad, CEO of Numou Education Center, explained that Code and Create is one of the center’s initiatives, supported by Al-Turki Holding Company. In its second edition, the initiative has expanded to multiple centers and geographical regions as part of a plan to reach the largest possible number of children across the Kingdom and empower them with digital skills through an engaging and interactive approach.

Al-Hamad stated:
“At Numou, we are keen to design educational experiences that nurture curiosity and exploration among children. The Code and Create initiative represents a practical model of how technology can be an enjoyable gateway to developing cognitive and logical skills from an early age.”

Saudi Arabia Tops the World in the WAICY 2024 Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition

Numou Education Center Wins 18 Awards and Becomes the World’s Most Awarded Institution

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved an unprecedented milestone at the WAICY 2024 Global Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition, securing the highest number of medals among 89 participating countries. This remarkable achievement is the result of dedicated educational efforts, with Numou Education Center playing a leading role in preparing and training an elite group of students who won 18 awards during the competition—making the center the most awarded educational institution worldwide in this year’s edition.

The competition saw the participation of more than 31,700 students forming 29,000 teams from around the world. Through the efforts of over 30 male and female students from Numou Education Center, more than 3,000 hours of intensive training and project development were completed over 30 consecutive days, resulting in 15 international awards, including 10 medals representing Saudi Arabia—accounting for more than one quarter of all medals awarded globally. With this achievement, the total number of local and international awards earned by Numou Education Center now exceeds 33 awards, solidifying its position as the top-winning institution at WAICY 2024 worldwide.

Students from Numou Education Center, aged between 9 and 17, participated with a range of high-quality projects, including the development of large language models, the collection of more than 8,000 images for AI training, and the production of short films using generative artificial intelligence, all aimed at delivering innovative solutions that serve communities.

Mr. Ashraf Hamad, CEO of Numou Education Center, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating:

Dr. Sally Al-Turki, President of Numou Education Center, also expressed her pride in this distinction, noting that the center achieved a tenfold increase in results compared to last year, advancing from a single silver medal to 15 awards in this year’s edition—reflecting the effectiveness of its programs in developing AI skills among young learners.

Numou Education Center Signs a Cooperation Agreement with Saudi Aramco to Launch the “Innovation Oasis” Program

ِAs part of joint efforts to support innovation and develop digital skills, Numou Education Center and Saudi Aramco signed a cooperation agreement to establish the “Innovation Oasis” Program, during the second edition of the Human Capability Initiative Conference held in Riyadh.

The program aims to empower more than 60,000 beneficiaries by 2027 through the delivery of interactive workshops and educational experiences within an advanced learning environment that fosters creative thinking and develops future-ready skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The first phase of the program will launch in Al Khobar, with plans to expand to various regions across the Kingdom over the next three years.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Numou Education Center by Dr. Sally Al-Turki, President of the Center, while Ms. Hadeel Al-Essa, Director of Citizenship at Saudi Aramco, represented the company.

In this context, Dr. Sally Al-Turki emphasized Numou’s commitment to providing innovative educational environments that empower Saudi youth, stating:

“Through our partnership with Saudi Aramco, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering educational experiences aligned with the Kingdom’s aspirations and supporting its youth in scientific and technological fields. The ‘Innovation Oasis’ Program represents a launchpad toward achieving the goals of Vision 2030 by building promising national capabilities.”
